Florida State University Police Command Staff consists of the Chief, Major of Uniformed operations, Major of Support Services, Coordinator of Administrative Services and the Lieutenants. They each have unique responsibilities and are accountable for the day to day operational and policy decision making. They make final recommendations to the Chief on promotional and disciplinary matters. These commanders and supervisors also serve in variety of ways to carry out the mission of the Police Department.
Chief
The Chief works daily to set the direction of the department, answer community concerns, concerns of the police department staff and facilitate obtaining the necessary resources for the Police Department. It is also part of the Chief to develop good working relationships with Command Level personnel at other local police and public safety agencies.
Assistant
Chief of Operations
The Associate Director of the Police Department and is currently
in Charge of the Operations Division which includes all Patrol,
Traffic, Communications, Security Officers, Event Staff, Special
Events and all Policing Functions.
Assistant Chief for Investigations/Support Services
The Assistant Chief for investigations oversees all investigative functions including crimes, Internal Affairs, administrative, and background investigations. Oversee the Support Services Division which includes Crime Prevention, Training, Accreditation, Traffic Safety programs, and the Citizen's Police Academy.
